Good Morning Net Noir A Good Morning Read

admin | February 23rd, 2010 - 1:56 am

Eugene Robinson of Washington Post has an opinion article out tomorrow that asks the Democrats to strengthen-up and pass health care reform.

I think Robinson does a good job of highlighting President Barack Obama’s strategic failures in passing health care reform. Going forward the Whitehouse needs to be faster to delineate specific goals they want in pending legislation. I think the speed at which the Recovery Act was proposed and passed led the Obama Administration into a bit of false security.

Should the president have done this a year ago? Yes, it would have been nice to know where his bottom line was — indeed, that he had a bottom line — given that health-care reform was his top legislative priority. At least some of the pointless drama could have been avoided. Eugene Robinson’s Opinion.

However, I do think many editorial writers and editorial bords need to get used to the fact that the executive simply does not have unlimited power over the legislative branch of government.
