The Man who Killed Malcolm X is now on Parole

Thomas Hagan, the man who shot and killed Malcolm X, will be released from prison late April. Prior, his previous appeals (a total amount of 16 times) were all denied.In 1968 Hagan shot Malcolm X  in Audubon Ballroom in front of his wife and children.

According to sources Hagan has  been provided  work  release for a couple of decades and has spent two days a week in lock-up in Lincoln Correctional Facility in Manhattan. March 17th he was granted parole by the State Division of Parole April 12th is his release date.  [Nytimes]

When did they start releasing a killer from prison for assassinating an important political figure of our Nation’s history? I thought perhaps he would at least get life…

Before you get too mad, you need to recall that the another of Malcolm X’s assassins only got 20 years [Nytimes.com]
